MBEs for two Kellogg rowers

16 January 2017

We are delighted to learn that alumnus Paul Bennett and current student Grace Clough have been awarded MBEs for services to rowing in the New Year’s Honours list.

Paul Bennett (MSc Computer Science, 2013) won a gold medal for Team GB in the men’s eight rowing final at Rio. You can read more about his experiences there in his blog: Going for gold: An account of competing at the Rio Olympics.

Grace Clough (MSc candidate, Sociology) only took up rowing in late 2013 but is already a Paralympic gold-medallist and double World Champion. In an impressive unbeaten run, she was a member of the LTA mixed coxed four that won gold at the 2014 and 2015 World Championships, then won gold again at the Paralympic Games at Rio 2016.

Our congratulations go to both Paul and Grace. We are delighted that they will both be joining us as guests of honour at this year’s Celebration of Sport Guest Night Dinner on Monday 13 March.
