Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics

I am a research scientist in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, with Professor Caleb Webber (University of Oxford and Cardiff University) and Dr Zameel Cader (Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences). By training, I am mathematical chemist with a focus on computational simulations of musculoskeletal proteins and membrane proteins and I have a background in mathematical biology and artificial intelligence (PhD & MSc, Warwick, MSc & BSc Birmingham). My current research is focused on using human transcriptional models, NHS electronic health records and drug descriptors (transcriptional, ligand docking, etc.,) to repurpose existing drugs for the treatment of chronic diseases.

I have worked in the software industry for several years, ran my own science consultancy company and I am a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
