Fernando graduated in Automation and Control Engineering at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Belo Horizonte – Brazil) in 2011. In 2017,  he received his doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering at the Technische Universitaet Dresden (Dresden- Germany). His doctoral work focused on modelling and processing of cardiac signals, in particular for non-invasive fetal ECG analysis. Fernando joined the Computational Intelligence in Biomedical Monitoring (CIBIM), lead by Professor Maarten De Vos, in February 2017 as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant. His current research focuses on developing machine learning techniques for cardiac and brain monitoring.
