Chief Information Security Officer

James is the University’s Chief Information Security Officer and leads the Information Security Team within IT Services. The team is made up of technical and non-technical information security professionals and is responsible for the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the University’s information.

The team works closely with colleagues in the central administration, departments and colleges to respond to queries, support the implementation of effective information security arrangements, meet compliance requirements and manage incidents when they occur.

James is committed to partnering with Oxford’s academic cyber security community, and the team has taken steps to build this relationship by working with students within the CDT on specific projects through sharing the operational data collected through the use of network and email monitoring solutions.
