Melissa became a fellow of Kellogg in 2009 when she was Director of Academic IT Services and Head of the Learning Technologies Group in Oxford University IT Services. She has since left Oxford and is currently Director of Learning, Teaching and Web at University of Edinburgh. While at Kellogg she held office as Dean of Degrees, IT Fellow and Chamberlaine. She remains a visiting fellow of Kellogg and secretary of the Oxford University Society in Edinburgh.
Melissa is well known for her leadership in the areas of technology enhanced learning and use of IT for teaching in higher education. She is an often-invited speaker at educational technology events and has particular expertise in strategic alignment of technology initiatives, open educational resources (OER) and massive online open courses with institutional missions for sustainable models and return on investment.
