Dr Williams is a departmental lecturer and Director of the DPhil in Evidence Based Health Care (EBHC) programme, based at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. She is an academic nurse with a research interest in patient experience of living and managing long-term conditions, complex intervention (with a particular focus on digital health) and health service delivery. Her research involves predominately qualitative methods as well as mixed method studies such as process evaluations within clinical trials. Her current research includes digital health intervention programmes in type 2 diabetes and mental health, experiences of ageing by learned disabled people and skill mix in primary care. She regularly works with academics across different disciplines, patients and health care practitioners.

She supervises several DPhil students on the EBHC and primary care DPhil programmes as well as students on the MSc EBHC. Veronika also teaches on several MSc EBHC modules and is co-lead for the Advanced Qualitative Research Methods course.
