Burns Night Ceilidh
Join us to celebrate Burns Night in style!
Burns Night and cèilidhs are Scottish traditions. Burns Night is an annual celebration of the birthday of the eighteenth century Scottish poet Robert Burns (also known as Rabbie Burns.) A cèilidh (pronounced ‘kay-lee’) is a social gathering, often involving dancing and the playing of Gaelic folk music. Click if you would like to find out more about Robert Burns and Burns Night
The evening will include dancing accompanied by a live cèilidh band. No expertise is assumed: instructions will be given so that everyone has the chance to take part. Even if dancing is not for you, there will be plenty of good food, good music and good company! The food served will be the traditional Burns Night menu of haggis, neeps and tatties (a vegetarian option will be available), which will be served buffet style. The evening will unfold as follows.
– 18:45 Drinks reception
– 19:00 Addressing of the haggis
– 19:10 Food to be served
– 20:00 Dancing begins
– 23:00 Bar closes
Dress code: The dress code is informal. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes for dancing.
