Creative Writing Seminar

All are welcome to join us for this seminar on ‘The Engaged Muse’, given by Professor Gary Geddes and Ann Eriksson.

Refreshments will be served at 17:00, the seminar will begin at 17:30. The seminar is hosted by the Kellogg College Centre for Creative Writing and convened by Dr Clare Morgan.


Gary Geddes, best known for seminal anthologies such as 20th-Century Poetry and Poetics, has written and edited forty-nine books, including the politically engaged The Terracotta Army, winner of the Commonwealth Poetry Prize (Americas Region) and The Resumption of Play. He taught English and Creative Writing at Concordia University in Montreal and served as writer-in-residence at various institutions, including the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Ann Eriksson, bestselling and award-winning fiction writer, has written five novels, including Falling from Grace and High Clear Bell of Morning. Reviewed alongside the work of Ann Patchett, her novels have been described as “musical” and “wise and deeply rendered” and praised for their “rare precision” and “tightly knitted plot.”
