The College Hub
The Hub opened its doors for the first time on 2 May 2017. The Hub is the heart of Kellogg, an informal space open to all College members that is home to the Common Room and Café. Besides being a great place to meet friends or share study strategies, the Hub Café offers sandwiches, salads, paninis, great coffee, and much more.
Eco-friendly and ethical
We are proud that the Hub is the first building in the University of Oxford to use the environmentally friendly Passivhaus design, which results in exceptionally low energy demand allied with the highest standards of occupant comfort. The ‘green’ nature of the building is echoed in the Café. We offer reusable ‘Keep Cups’ that are permitted in University libraries across Oxford, all packaging is compostable, the coffee served is Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade approved and also supports women’s charities, food is sourced as locally as possible, and food waste is recycled through the council scheme. All this whilst retaining the excellent quality for which Kellogg food is known.
The Hub is accessible 24 hours a day. It continues to operate outside term-time and when the Dining Hall is closed but not during College closures. Food, snacks, and hot and cold drinks are constantly available via coin-operated vending machines.
The doors remain unlocked during the Café’s opening hours. When the Café is closed, the Hub can be accessed via the main entrance door using a University card. Café opening times are as follows.
Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
- 08:00 – 11:30 Breakfast
- 11:30 – 14:00 Lunch
- 15:00 – 17:00 Cakes and snacks
