With the move of Kellogg to its own premises on the Banbury Road in 2006, the College wished to ensure that a stimulating academic and intellectual life was in place and that full use was made of the new facilities.  To that end a number of academic initiatives were taken, one of which was the establishment of Kellogg College Research Centres.  The Governing Body of Kellogg agreed that any proposal for a Kellogg College Research Centre should benefit the College in some way and meet several, if not all, of the following criteria:

  • academic excellence
  • in line with Fellows’ present interests
  • promote lifelong learning
  • attract high quality new students to the College
  • enhance the experience of existing students
  • add to the ongoing academic, intellectual or cultural life of the college (e.g. through seminars, lectures, workshops etc.)
  • stimulate research activity within the College
  • extend the productive relationship between the College and its partner departments
  • ensure that buildings and facilities are fully used throughout the year, whilst leaving sufficient space available for core College activities
  • benefit the College finances
  • develop and promote the reputation, profile and mission of the College.

To date the following Kellogg College Research Centres have been established:
