Which scholarship do you hold?

I am an ARM scholar in Sustainable Healthcare Technology

What subject are you studying?

I am reading a DPhil in Healthcare Innovation at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Engineering Science.

What research have you recently undertaken?

My interests lie in crowd-sourcing and machine learning, particularly using probabilistic techniques for the labelling of medical data. My DPhil focuses on developing algorithms for online, unsupervised learning, combining multiple-sourced medical data in resource-constrained environments. I have recently coordinated and delivered an m-health project between China Mobile and University of Oxford.

What does the scholarship mean to you?

The scholarship has provided me the opportunity to deepen my research skills and helped resource-constrained countries to provide better healthcare solutions by developing sustainable technologies. Being an ARM scholar also allows me to be the representative of the Kellogg College Centre for Affordable Healthcare Technology (OxCAHT), which is a community of Oxford students and faculty members, supporting student projects that address societal challenges in resource-constrained areas.

What do you value about being a student at Kellogg College?

Kellogg has a fantastic environment which offers talks and events to encourage students to network and/or to develop their research skills. The OxCAHT is unique to Kellogg and being a part of Kellogg, I feel welcome in a community where everyone is friendly and passionate in what they do.
