Dr Yasmin Khan talks about her work as the historical consultant on the BBC documentary Back in time for Birmingham
The programme follows the Sharma family as they experience what life used to be like for South Asian Britons in Birmingham, and highlights the vital contributions made by arrivals from the Indian sub-continent over the last 75 years.
About Dr Yasmin Khan
Social historian Dr Yasmin Khan is Senior Tutor and Fellow at Kellogg College. Her research, on the decolonization of modern South Asia, has been supported by funding from the AHRC and British Academy. She held posts at the Universities of Edinburgh and Royal Holloway before returning to Oxford. She holds degrees from St. Peter’s and St. Antony’s Colleges.
