Dr Sara Falcone

Sara is a veterinary surgeon with interest in molecular biology.
After a PhD in Mouse and Molecular Genetics at MRC Harwell Institute, she is now a postdoctoral researcher based in the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Physiology working with Prof Chris O’Callaghan and Prof Lucy Davison.
Her work focuses on the impact of novel mutations on the onset and development of endocrine disorders in both mouse models and pets, with a particular focus on type 1 diabetes.
She is also involved in the multi-institutional study MASCOT on companion animal susceptibility to species-specific coronavirus infections.
