Experience 3

Experience the musical artform of Gayageum

Beautiful Gayageum

Experience the elegance of Korean traditional culture through taking a class at Beautiful Gayageum. The gayageum is a traditional Korean string instrument, similar to a zither, with twelve silk or nylon strings stretched across a long wooden body. Known for its delicate, expressive sound, it has been played in Korea for centuries in both court and folk music.

During this hands-on class, participants will dress in beautiful hanbok, Korea’s traditional clothing, and learn the basics of the gayageum from an experienced instructor. Guests will be introduced to the instrument’s history, try simple playing techniques, and perform a short melody together—creating a memorable cultural experience that combines music, tradition, and the beauty of Korean heritage. The class, which includes the opportunity to take photos, will take place in Seoul’s historical district of Bukchon close to many excellent shops and restaurants and the palaces of Gyeongbukgung and Changdeokgung.

Time: 10:00 – 11:30
