Celebration of the Life of Canon Vincent Strudwick
DateSaturday 27 September 2025
Time15:00-17:00
LocationThe Hub
All College members, past and present, and friends and colleagues of Canon Vincent Strudwick are warmly invited to join us for a celebration of his life.
Vincent was one of Kellogg’s first Fellows: an influential and much-admired member of the College, he played a key role in shaping the welcoming and inclusive ethos we enjoy today. As founder of our legacy society, which has been named in his honour, Vincent led the way to encouraging members of the Kellogg community to leave a gift in their will, as a powerful way to create new and far-reaching opportunities for our students.
In memory of our friend, and in celebration of his life, we invite you to join us at a special event in the College Hub and Gardens, where we will share some of our fondest recollections and records of his achievements over the years.
The event takes place from 3:00pm-5:00pm (speeches at 3:30pm) in the College Hub and Gardens.
Refreshments will be served from 3:00pm; sandwiches and cakes will be offered following the speeches.
There is no charge. However, spaces are limited, so if you wish to attend, please RSVP by registering through the Book Now button provided below. Please do make us aware of any special dietary requirements by emailing: hospitality@kellogg.ox.ac.uk

The Vincent Strudwick Contemplative Garden
To honour Vincent’s legacy, we will create a Contemplative Garden in our college grounds. The Vincent Strudwick Contemplative Garden will be a planted space offering calm and respite from the demands of academic and professional life. Whether for solitary thought, quiet conversation, or informal gatherings, it will foster the thoughtful presence Vincent valued. We welcome friends, fellows, alumni, and supporters to join us in making this vision a reality.
Open to: Members of Kellogg College,
