Campus Updates
Improving our campus
Summer 2026 – Kellogg College is continually investing in its buildings and facilities. Our aim is to ensure we continue to grow and develop as an accessible, sustainable and welcoming campus for everyone.
Over the coming months and years, we will be improving student accommodation, enhancing our gardens and outdoor spaces, increasing accessibility across the site, and investing in sustainable infrastructure.
Together, these projects will support the College’s continued growth, enabling more students to live on site and providing enhanced spaces for members to study, meet and socialise.
Some projects will inevitably cause temporary disruption. We will work closely with contractors to minimise the impact wherever possible and keep affected members informed throughout.
Student accommodation
Starting over the Summer of 2026, we are undertaking four projects to increase and improve student accommodation across the College.
Our largest capital project since the Hub opened in 2017, the new West Campus will provide 33 en suite student bedrooms across three new buildings between Banbury Road and Winchester Road. Set within revitalised gardens, the development will extend the College campus while creating attractive new outdoor spaces.
The buildings form part of a larger complex of student accommodation, with additional buildings on the northern part of the site allocated to Hertford College students.
The accommodation is expected to be ready for occupation starting in Michaelmas Term 2028.
Former office space at 47 Banbury Road will be converted into eight student bedrooms with shared kitchen, bathroom and living facilities.
The new bedrooms are expected to be ready for occupation from Trinity Term 2027.
The existing student accommodation will be refurbished, including improvements to all ten bedrooms and the creation of a new kitchen diner and laundry room.
The 11-bedroom villa will be refurbished and internally reorganised to create two new bedrooms and provide a large, shared kitchen diner for residents.
Campus improvements
Alongside our accommodation projects, we are making a number of improvements across the main College site to enhance facilities and improve accessibility and sustainability across the campus.
A new ramped entrance at the rear of 62 Banbury Road will provide a direct, safe and accessible route between the Hub and Reception.
Works are due to be completed before Michaelmas Term 2026.
Our landscaping programme will create a greener, more welcoming campus.
- New plantings and gravel driveways in front of the College entrance will create more green spaces and provide a welcoming entrance to the frontage on Banbury Road.
- New picnic tables and plantings to the East side of the Hub will provide additional outdoor seating for members and visitors to enjoy the College gardens.
- New and improved pathways will connect garden spaces to allow foot travel across the perimeter without leaving the site.
In October 2025, the College installed 66 photovoltaic (PV) solar panels on the Dining Hall roof. The energy harnessed will offset the energy used by the kitchen which is solely electricity operated.
Additional sets of solar photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roofs of the Hub, 60 Banbury Road and 62 Banbury Road, helping to reduce the College’s reliance on grid electricity and supporting our commitment to Net Zero.
Works are subject to planning permission and expected to take place in Spring 2027.
The garden behind 7 and 8 Banbury Road will be transformed into a beautiful, biodiverse space designed for quiet reflection, celebrating the legacy of Vincent Strudwick.
