In January 2026, Kellogg College was announced as a strategic partner in the delivery of the UK’s New Hospital Programme (NHP) Academy.

The New Hospital Programme is a major infrastructure initiative to build or upgrade 40 hospitals across England by 2030, improving safety and modernizing care. At its heart, the NHP Academy prepares the workforce to operate smart, sustainable and digitally advanced hospitals as the NHS transforms its infrastructure.

As a strategic partner, Kellogg College contributes to the design and delivery of high-quality training for the Academy’s Transformational Leadership programme. Drawing on the College’s interdisciplinary strengths, the programme combines structured learning, evidence-led insight and reflective discussion, shaped and delivered with input from College President Professor Jonathan Michie and members of the College fellowship. Professor Michie also serves as a subject matter expert on the NHP Academy Advisory Board, providing strategic guidance to support the Academy’s mission.

Kellogg provides a neutral, academic environment that enables senior leaders to step back from operational pressures and engage in focused learning and dialogue. With long-standing experience in convening leaders from across sectors and connecting research with practice, the College creates space for informed challenge, interdisciplinary conversation and the exchange of perspectives essential to complex system change in public service leadership and healthcare systems.

Initially, Kellogg will host four NHP Academy training cohorts between January and July 2026, with each cohort undertaking a three-day workshop. These intensive sessions will bring together senior leaders from across the New Hospital Programme to develop the transformational leadership capabilities needed to deliver this critical healthcare infrastructure initiative.

This partnership reflects Kellogg College’s commitment to collaboration, lifelong learning and real-world impact. By working closely with national partners such as the NHP Academy, the College bridges the University of Oxford and the wider public sector, supporting leadership development and contributing to the future of healthcare delivery.
