Call for nominations for the 2026 Nigel Mason Award
The Centre on Mutual and Co-owned Business at Kellogg College is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Nigel Mason Award, which recognises outstanding research into employee ownership of business. Established to honour Nigel Mason – one of the UK’s leading experts on employee ownership, who died in 2021 – the Award celebrates significant recent contributions that advance understanding, policy and practice in this field. The inaugural winners were announced in summer 2025.
Open to researchers from any discipline and from anywhere in the world, the Award is administered by the Nigel Mason Award committee with support from the UK employee ownership sector. The winning researcher will receive a £2,000 prize and opportunities to showcase their work. The recipient will also be announced formally at the Third Annual Rutgers University–Oxford Employee Ownership Research Conference, taking place at Kellogg College in August 2026.
Eligible research must be written in English on or after 1 January 2023 and provide original quantitative or qualitative analysis focused on employee ownership or closely related themes. Submissions should demonstrate the potential to deliver wider impact, including shaping policy or informing practice among government or business leaders.
Anyone may make a nomination – for their own work or that of another researcher – and joint authors may be nominated together. The deadline for submissions is 31 May 2026.
