Kellogg alumni connect at Meeting Minds and Gaudy Dinner

September 30, 2025

On 20 September 2025, Kellogg College welcomed over 250 University of Oxford alumni to the Hub for “Meeting Minds”, the University-wide programme of events, which encourages alumni to discover, connect and celebrate together. The day brought together alumni from across the University with interests in medicine, architecture, art, creative writing, urban development, and sustainability.

As part of the programme, Kellogg hosted four panel discussions featuring members of our community, including Kellogg Fellows and alumni. Speakers included Kellogg Fellow Professor Carl Heneghan, Professor Kamal Mahtani, and Dr Annette Plüddemann from the MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care programme; Sustainable Urban Development alumna Anne Fairfax and Richard Sammons from Fairfax & Sammons Architects; Nicholas Boys Smith, founder of Create Streets; Kellogg Fellow Dr Clare Morgan, Director of the Creative Writing Programme; Visiting Fellow Dr Anna Beer; Creative Writing alumnus Chris Barkley; Dr Simon Sandinsky, Executive Director at the King’s Foundation; and Kellogg Fellow’s Dr David Howard and Dr Juliet Carpenter from the Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation at Kellogg.

The panels reflected the breadth of ideas and expertise within the Kellogg community and the wider University.

At the end of the day, following the discussions, we welcomed back over 130 Kellogg alumni and their guests for our annual Gaudy Dinner, the highlight of the College’s alumni calendar. Over a three-course dinner prepared by Chef Jon Wilmot and his team, alumni had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new connections, and revisit their College home. Kellogg also had the distinct pleasure of welcoming the Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Lord Hague of Richmond to join us for dinner.

It is always a delight to welcome alumni, Fellows, and friends back to College, and we hope you will explore our upcoming alumni events and consider joining us next year for Meeting Minds and the Gaudy Dinner.

Recordings of the sessions are available to watch on YouTube.
