Kellogg Beyond Oxford: A new era of global engagement
At the end of April, Kellogg College reached beyond Oxford to hold its first Open Conversations in Seoul, an initiative designed to bring the College’s culture of intellectual, socially-relevant dialogue to an international audience.
We were delighted that the inaugural event was hosted by former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, one of Kellogg’s Bynum Tudor Fellows (a category of distinguished global fellows affiliated with the College), and organised in partnership with the Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future. His vision for constructive international dialogue set the tone for everything that followed.
The weekend forum brought together alumni, academics and international leaders to discuss pressing contemporary challenges – from geopolitical shifts to the ethics of artificial intelligence. Discussions drew on Oxford scholarship while incorporating perspectives from business, technology and diplomacy, and the setting provided a rich context for cultural exchange and international networking.
The event also reflected something central to Kellogg’s identity: a commitment to lifelong learning that doesn’t stop at Oxford’s gates. By working with partners such as the Ban Ki-moon Foundation, the College aims to create meaningful opportunities for its global community to connect, collaborate and contribute — wherever they are in the world.
We hope this is just the beginning of seeing Kellogg beyond Oxford, and look forward to announcing more Open Conversations in due course.
