The Kellogg College Cricket Club (KCCC) has secured the intercollegiate cricket League title for the 2025-2026 season. The League is a T20 cricket tournament between Oxford colleges. Kellogg won all of its group-stage matches to finish top of its group, then advanced through the knockout stages to claim the tournament title.

Highlights include scoring 207-2 against Lincoln College, chasing Merton College’s total with the loss of only two wickets, and defeating St. John’s College by 90 runs in the semi-final.

The final took place on Tuesday 16th June and was umpired by two England Cricket Board umpires. Watched on by the college founder, Geoffrey Thomas, Kellogg defeated New College in a closely fought match. Three seasons earlier, in the 2022-2023 season, Kellogg faced New College on the same ground in the League final, where Kellogg came runner-up.

Oxford college cricket is highly competitive and played to a very high standard, with teams including Blues, Tics and Sivs players among their ranks. To become League champions in a competition of such quality is a significant achievement and one for which the team should take great pride.

This season is my third and final season as KCCC captain. In my view, the success of the team, and any college team, is not determined on the basis of individual talent – all college teams have talented players – but on team spirit and tenacity. The players have those qualities in abundance. It is those characteristics that have made KCCC a serious contender in previous years and, this year, the League champions.

I look back on the years with immense gratitude to every player who has represented the club – it is the contribution of every single player that has brought us success as a team. During this period, I have been very fortunate to work with outstanding co-captains: thank you Tom, Tom and Matt. When I took on the captaincy, I set out to put Kellogg cricket on the map. As I bow out, I am proud to say that the team has far surpassed that ambition.

Finally, I cannot emphasise enough what an exceptional cricketing environment Kellogg offers. I could not recommend the club more highly to current Kellogg members and prospective students alike. It is a welcoming community, united by a shared purpose and a love of the game. I would encourage anyone – of any level – to get involved.
