Kellogg Conversations: Futures in Common – Trinity Term 2025

Kellogg College is launching a new series of Kellogg Conversations for Trinity Term, bringing together leading academics, practitioners and policymakers to explore the most urgent questions shaping our shared future.

This term’s theme, Futures in common: nature, trust and community, examines the foundations on which lasting progress depends – how we build resilience, whom we trust to lead change, and how collective action can deliver meaningful impact. Each discussion is chaired by a Fellow of Kellogg College and designed to foster open, cross-disciplinary exchange in the spirit of Kellogg’s commitment to lifelong learning and public engagement.

6 May | Lessons in resilience: What nature and heritage teach us about building a sustainable future

What can the natural world and our cultural heritage tell us about adapting to change? As communities and institutions face mounting pressure to respond to global challenges, this opening conversation draws on insights from ecology and heritage to ask what genuinely enduring resilience looks like – and how we might build it.

20 May | Who do we trust? Evidence and accountability in the net zero transition

As scrutiny of corporate and government climate commitments intensifies, credible evidence and public trust have never mattered more. This conversation examines what meaningful accountability looks like in the push toward net zero, and how transparency can help navigate the complexities of climate action.

3 June | Community and co-operation: From micro-movements to major impacts

Change often begins small. This closing discussion explores how local initiatives and grassroots movements gain momentum, build coalitions and scale to influence wider systems – and what that means for anyone working toward lasting social and environmental change.

Kellogg Conversations posterTogether, these conversations reflect Kellogg’s distinctive role as a convening space for diverse perspectives and constructive debate. Attendees will have the opportunity not only to hear from expert speakers, but also to engage in dialogue, share insights and build connections across communities.
