Kellogg student elected to lead highly regarded Clarendon Scholars' Council
DPhil student, Daniel Hawkins Iddrisu, has been given the backing by his fellow Clarendon Scholars as he’s elected to the Presidency of the highly regarded Clarendon Scholars’ Council.
Daniel Hawkins Iddrisu is currently pursuing a DPhil in Education (International and Comparative Education) and is in his 3rd year at Kellogg College.
He was recently elected to President of the Clarendon Scholars’ Council, which means he will be taking a lead role in the development of the Council’s vision and goals, overseeing its activities, and serve as the public face of the Council.
Clarendon Scholarships are one of the University of Oxford’s most prestigious and sought-after grants for graduate study. They are awarded to academically outstanding students, who show the best potential, as decided by experts in each student’s field.
The Clarendon Scholars’ Council is central to the Clarendon community and plays a crucial role in the continued success of the scholarships. It consists of several annually elected positions, including the Official Member, and a permanent representative from the University.
We asked Daniel what he hopes to achieve as President:
“As President of the Clarendon Council, I aim to build a strong, supportive, and inclusive community where all scholars feel represented and protected. I’m passionate about pushing for fair and meaningful programs that meet the needs of everyone in our community. Whether it’s through organising fun and engaging events, creating opportunities for collaboration across different fields, or partnerships with other student bodies, I want to make sure the Council is a place where ideas thrive and connections grow. This is a mission that the entire council is committed to achieving.”
