Kellogg students win awards at Oxford's All-Innovate Competition

March 24, 2025

Kellogg College is proud to congratulate two of its students for winning awards at the highly competitive All-Innovate competition, an initiative designed to foster early-stage entrepreneurial ideas and innovation.

Organised by EnSpire Oxford, the University of Oxford’s entrepreneurship hub, the All-Innovate competition brings together students and staff from all disciplines to develop entrepreneurial skills and turn bold ideas into reality. This annual event is open to participants regardless of their level of study or prior experience, offering a unique opportunity to access resources and funding to support promising business ventures.

This year, Kellogg students Atsushi Shirahama (MSc in Software Engineering) and Danny Rajalingam (DPhil in Engineering Science) impressed the judges with their ground-breaking projects, earning funding to help bring their innovative ideas to life.

Atsushi Shirahama: Transforming Construction with AI

Atsushi’s project, Buildopedia, is set to revolutionise the construction industry by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence.

With over 1.3 million families in the UK struggling to find affordable housing—and millions more worldwide—inefficiencies in the construction process cause significant delays and add billions in costs. Buildopedia addresses these challenges by offering an AI-powered platform that streamlines workflows for architects and construction professionals.

The platform features an intelligent search agent and a comprehensive AI-driven data repository, enabling users to quickly access detailed construction information, materials, and structural components. By improving information retrieval and decision-making, Buildopedia aims to make construction faster, more efficient, and more affordable.

Reflecting on his win, Atsushi said: “This award is a first step toward our mission to transform the construction industry. By leveraging AI, we can make building faster, more efficient, and more affordable. With millions of people struggling to find housing, technology can bridge the gap between innovation and accessibility.”

Danny Rajalingam: Creating a Global Market for Renewable Energy

Danny Rajalingam’s project, the Global Green Exchange (GGX), is a sustainability-focused stock exchange developed to make green investment as easy as buying a cup of coffee.

The platform has two core objectives: to connect renewable energy companies with a global market for trading stocks and surplus energy, and to make green investments more accessible and appealing to both individual investors and financial institutions.

By facilitating real-time energy trading, GGX has the potential to accelerate the transition to renewable energy while offering new financial opportunities for investors and stakeholders. The project envisions a world where excess renewable energy can be traded instantly across borders, and every investment helps build a healthier planet.

Speaking about the award, Danny said: “Participating in the All-Innovate Showcase has been an incredible experience. This recognition has given me greater confidence in pursuing sustainability-focused entrepreneurial projects. I hope my ideas will drive real positive change and push the boundaries at the intersection of sustainability and fintech.”

A Bright Future for Kellogg Entrepreneurs

Kellogg College continues to be a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, supporting students as they tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges. The success of Atsushi and Danny at the All-Innovate competition underscores the College’s commitment to fostering creativity and empowering students to transform their ideas into impactful solutions.

Congratulations once again to Atsushi and Danny on their well-deserved success. We look forward to seeing how their projects evolve and the positive change they will bring to industries and communities worldwide.
