New book based on Kellogg College event with Buddhist master to be released this month
A new book based on the Kellogg College event “In Conversation with…Ringu Tulku Rinpoche” is set to be released this month by author Mary Heneghan.
The book, Timely Questions Timeless Wisdom, is based on a conversation Mary had with Buddhist Master Ringu Tulku Rinpoche in 2023 here at Kellogg College. A foreword to the book has been provided by Kellogg President Jonathan Michie.
The forthcoming publication aims to capture the dialogue between Mary Heneghan and Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, during which Rinpoche shared profound insights on interfaith dialogue, global travel, and the transformative power of Buddhist philosophy. His extensive education under numerous revered Tibetan masters has shaped his views, and in the conversation with Mary, he expounded on these teachings with a focus on sustainability, wisdom, and universal connection.
Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist Master of the Kagyu Order. He is an author, educator, and founder of Bodhicharya and Rigul Trust, who is widely renowned for his education and contributions to Tibetan Buddhism.
Mary Heneghan was involved in healthcare research at Oxford’s Partnership for Child Development, supporting projects that spanned the globe for many years. She turned to acupuncture in 2000, and became a meditation teacher, and long-time student of Rinpoche, collaborating with him for over two decades to edit and publish his teachings through Bodhicharya Publications. Mary is also an alumna of St Hilda’s College (Medicine) and Linacre College (Experimental Psychology).
Mary’s book launches on Saturday 22 February and will be available to purchase from Amazon. It is published by Ocean of Wisdom, a non-profit Community Interest Company. All profits go towards writing up and publishing further texts of Buddhist and similar teachings. This project was kindly sponsored by the McCall MacBain Foundation.
Foreword written by College President Jonathan Michie
"It was a genuine pleasure to welcome Ringu Tulku as our guest at Kellogg College. It is now a great honour to have been invited to contribute the Foreword to this short book, based on the talk delivered by Ringu Tulku, and the subsequent discussion during his visit."
