Dr Alice Evatt

Research Fellow on Net Zero for the Fossil Fuel Sector
School of Geography and the Environment
Alice is a Research Fellow on Net Zero for the Fossil Fuel Sector, working within Oxford Net Zero and the Environmental Change Institute, School of Geography. Working together with Professor Myles Allen (geophysics) and Dr Stuart Jenkins (physics), her current focus is on assessing the credibility of net zero strategies within the Fossil Fuel Sector, as well as the European Commission’s Net Zero Industry Act, and building crucial storage capacity and infrastructure in the EU and beyond. Alice has a background in Climate Ethics and Policy and recently completed her DPhil (PhD) in this area at Oxford University and Balliol College. Her work examined responsibilities for Scopes 1, 2, and 3 across various industries, as well as critically examining the emergency status of climate change and the development of emergency policy.
Before her DPhil, Alice completed a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy at the University of Sydney, an MPhil in Philosophy at Newnham College, Cambridge, and a BA (Advanced Honours) in Philosophy and Art History and Theory at the University of Sydney.
