Catherine is the Bodleian Education Librarian & Subject Consultant, based at the Department of Education. A chartered librarian, Catherine is an information professional specialising in the higher education sector with particular interests in information literacy and supporting researchers. She has an interest in gathering user views and data on how services are being used in order to create a responsive and continually improving library service.

Catherine’s current projects include coordinating the Bodleian Social Science Libraries training programme for doctoral research students. This has included arranging external speakers on hot topics such as altmetrics and open access, and introducing in-depth evaluation of the programme. Catherine has successfully bid for funds to progress a significant refurbishment project in the Bodleian Education Library, creating an extra reading room and expanding the teaching resources collection beyond classic textbooks to include up-to-date technology.

Catherine has also been chosen to chair the user group for SOLO, the Bodleian Library’s key online information system, gathering robust data on user’s needs and improving internal and external communications.
