Dr Christophe Ravaud
Research Member of Common Room
Postdoctoral Researcher
Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine
Christophe studied Genetics and Development at University Nice Cote d’Azur, in France where he completed his PhD from 2013 to 2017. His PhD research was about the side effects of the HAART therapy on the human adipose stem cells, focusing on their self-renewal and differentiation into white and brown adipocytes. After completing his PhD, he moved to Oxford and started to work as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Prof Paul Riley’s group at DPAG and Oxstem, an Oxford spin-out which plans to develop small molecule drugs that can activate repair mechanisms that already exist within the body.
In May 2020, Christophe joined an MRC programme in Prof Paul Riley’s group to study immunomodulation following cardiac injury. More specifically, he is investigating cardiac lymphangiogenesis, which occurs post-myocardial infarction in order to optimise the local injury environment for tissue repair after a heart attack.
