Gulnar Abdullayeva is a postdoctoral research scientist specialising in Outbreak Pathogens at the Oxford Vaccine Group. Her area of expertise is on developing a safe and an effective vaccine to combat the outbreak pathogens. She is particularly interested in studying the immune response following vaccination to define immunological correlates of protection.
She was awarded a DPhil in Oncology from the University of Oxford in 2024. Her DPhil research focused on investigating the molecular mechanisms of colorectal cancer, with a particular focus on identifying and characterising key transcription factors involved in the regulation of goblet cell differentiation. This work provided valuable insights into the pathways driving cellular differentiation and tumour progression. She completed her Master’s degree with honours from the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Batchelor’s degree with distinction at Baku State University.
