Professor Oluwole Daramola is a Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, where he also serves as Head of Department. With nearly two decades of teaching, research, and professional practice, his scholarship spans urban resilience, environmental health planning, land governance, and community participation. He has authored over 70 publications and supervised numerous postgraduate theses, shaping the next generation of African urban scholars.

Professor Daramola has contributed to several projects, including studies for the World Bank, United Nations agencies, and Nigerian federal and state ministries on city planning, land administration, and urban and regional development. His leadership extends beyond the academy, including his current role as Assistant National Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), as well as past services as a State Chairman and Secretary of the Forum of Chairmen of the Institute.

Professor Daramola, a recipient of multiple national and international awards, has held visiting research appointments at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy and the University of Zambia, supported by fellowships and mobility grants. The current support from AfOx Initiative has further strengthened his research works on the advancement of inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban futures in Africa and beyond.
