Sattar Vakili is a researcher in artificial intelligence, with a focus on the theoretical foundations of learning and decision-making under uncertainty. He is currently a Principal Research Manager at MediaTek Research, the research division of a globally renowned semiconductor company whose technologies power billions of devices worldwide, where he leads research on reinforcement learning, foundation models, and AI-driven communication systems. He also holds a Visiting Researcher position at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, working on AI methods for biomedical data and genomics. He received his PhD from Cornell University in 2017 and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at Princeton University. His work has resulted in around 50 publications in leading AI and machine learning venues, including NeurIPS, ICML, and AISTATS.
