Guest Night Dinners
Kellogg College hosts at least one Guest Night Dinner per week during term-time. All College members are warmly encouraged to attend these formal dinners, to enjoy delicious food and good company. Our formal dinners provide an opportunity for students, alumni, fellows, and friends of College, to meet and share knowledge, ideas and experience. Dinners are preceded by drinks at 18:45 and the meal starts at 19:15. Academic gowns should be worn by Fellows and current students for all Guest Night Dinners, unless specified otherwise.
Every student has an entitlement to an allowance for complimentary Guest Night Dinners. For further information, please see the Student Handbook.
All Guest Night Dinners must be booked in advance. Booking information can be found via the event publicity and the Events calendar. Please note in particular the booking and cancellation deadlines. Cancellations made after the deadline will still be charged, unless a guest from the waiting list is able to fill the vacancy.
Informal dinners are served every weekday evening from 18:15 in the Dining Hall during term-time, except when a Guest Night Dinner is taking place. There is no dress code and there is no need to book. Sign in on the sheet when you arrive. You will be charged via battels at the end of each term.
Kellogg offers the following options for lunch.
Lunch in the Hub
The College Hub offers a range of light meals and snacks from the Café and vending machines throughout the day. The Café is cashless, ie only credit and debit cards can be used for payment. The Hub’s vending machines, however, accept only coins. Student lunch allowances cannot be used in the Hub.
Lunch in the Dining Hall
Lunch is served in the Dining Hall from 12:45 to 13:45 every weekday during term-time and for parts of the vacation, as specified on the events page. As we are an egalitarian community, we do not have a high table at Kellogg, so all College members sit and eat together during lunch. There is no dress code, and there is no need to book. Sign in on the sheet when you arrive and your lunch will be set against your student lunch allowance. Once that allowance is used up, you will be charged via battels at the end of the term. Click to view the Trinity Term Lunch Menu 2017 (pdf). The meal consists of the following:
|A hot drink||A selection of tea, coffee and herbal teas|
There are also bread rolls and still/sparkling water on the tables.
Breakfast and Weekend Brunch
Breakfast is available from 08:00 every morning in the College Hub. In addition, brunch is served in the Hub between 10:00 and 13:00 on Saturdays and Sundays during term time.
