The College Dining Hall

Guest Night Dinners

Kellogg College hosts at least one Guest Night Dinner per week during term-time. All College members are warmly encouraged to attend these formal dinners, to enjoy delicious food and good company. Our formal dinners provide an opportunity for students, alumni, fellows, and friends of College, to meet and share knowledge, ideas and experience.

Every student has an entitlement to an allowance for complimentary Guest Night Dinners. For further information, please see the Student Handbook.

All Guest Night Dinners must be booked in advance. Booking information can be found via the event publicity and the Events calendar. Booking closes at noon, two working days before the event. Waiting lists will be kept in case of cancellations. There is a separate cancellation deadline a week before the event, the date for which will be specified on the event’s web page. Cancellations made after this deadline will still be charged, but an alternative guest may be invited to fill the vacancy in the guest list. Academic gowns should be worn by Fellows and current students for all Guest Night Dinners, unless specified otherwise.

Lunch

As we are an egalitarian community, we do not have a high table at Kellogg, so all College members sit and eat together during lunch. There is no dress code, and there is no need to book. Lunch is served in the Dining Hall from 12:45-13:45 every weekday during term-time. Sign-in on the sheet when you arrive, you will be charged via battels at the end of each term. The bar opens at 18:00 and closes at 21:00 (or later if an event is on-going) and is a great space in which to meet friends and relax.
