Too much healthcare can lead to unnecessary, and sometimes harmful overtreatment and psychological distress as well as financial burden for individuals and the healthcare system.

This event aims to raise awareness of the harms of too much healthcare and introduce a new unit at the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine that will work to identify and look at solutions to reduce waste in research and practice and mitigate the potential burden on individuals and health systems.

This event will be of particular interest to students in the fields of medicine, public policy and healthcare economics, as well as members of the public who want to know more about ways to mitigate burdens on the healthcare system.

This event starts with tea, coffee and networking from 5.00pm. The talk will begin at 5.30pm.
