International Women’s Day Lecture: Centuries of silence in music - Watch the film

March 12, 2020

Music and conversation for International Women’s Day (and every day) – asking important questions about the centuries of silence of women composers.

On International Women’s Day 2020 we celebrated forgotten women composers with an evening of conversation between award-winning composer/conductor Debbie Wiseman OBE (Wolf Hall, and most recently The Mythos Suite in collaboration with Stephen Fry) and Kellogg Visiting Fellow Anna Beer, writer and author of “Sounds and Sweet Airs”. We were also treated to excerpts from the wonderful, often hidden pieces composed by women, by the Echéa Quartet and Debbie.
