Kellogg Fellows recognised with professorial titles
We are proud to announce that in the University’s Recognition of Distinction 2024, the title of full professor has been bestowed on three Kellogg Fellows: Dr Elizabeth Gemmill, Dr Yasmin Khan, and Dr Richard Stevens.
The University’s Recognition of Distinction Awards confers the title of full professor, recognising distinguished contributions and excellent records in research and teaching, as well as service to the wider University.
Dr Elizabeth Gemmill is Professor of Medieval Economic and Social History in the Department for Continuing Education where she also directs the Postgraduate Certificate in Historical Studies. Elizabeth’s research interests are in later medieval English and Scottish social, economic and ecclesiastical history. She was named in 2012 as the ‘Most Acclaimed Lecturer’ in the Department by Oxford University Student Union. She is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
Dr Yasmin Khan, Professor of Modern History, is a historian and writer based in the Department for Continuing Education and a member of the History Faculty. Her research focuses on the history of the British in India, the British Empire, South Asian decolonization, refugees and the aftermath of empire. She has also written about the Second World War and the imperial dimensions of the conflict.
Dr Richard Stevens is Professor of Medical Statistics at the Department of Primary Care Health Sciences and course director of the MSc in Evidence Based Health Care Medical Statistics. His current research interests include monitoring chronic diseases, especially diabetes and hypertension, and clinical prediction rules, especially risk scores. He currently supervises DPhil students on the Evidence Based Health Care (EBHC) programme.
