Dr Maria Veretennikova
Junior Research Fellow
Senior Bioinformatician
Nuffield Department of Medicine
PhD, Master’s and MSc (Warwick)
Maria’s key research interests are in applications of mathematics, machine learning and statistics, primarily for biomedical sciences. At the moment, she focuses on single cell RNASeq and spatial transcriptomics data analysis in the context of immune system functionality.
Some of her recent collaborations are related to quantifying circadian rhythm disruption in cancer and other diseases, as well as numerical computations and applications of Markov-type processes. She has also been involved in applying stochastic analysis to gain insight from brain data as well as modelling anomalous diffusion.
