Nicole Dingwall is a Departmental Lecturer in English Education at The University of Oxford. Previously Nicole taught English in secondary schools in Australia and the UK. Her main research interests are the identity and shaping of teachers and the teaching of English in secondary schools. Her doctoral thesis was on the cultures of secondary school English departments. Nicole is currently working on a project to compare the nature of instructed second/foreign/first language learning at secondary school in England, Norway and France.
