Alison is a Departmental Lecturer in Archaeology at Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE). She received her BA in Classical Civilisation and Ancient History from Sheffield University (1989) and her doctorate from Oxford University (2003). Her research interests lie in Roman landscape archaeology and Roman ceramics, and her fieldwork is in central Italy, where she has worked on a number of landscape archaeology projects.
Alison teaches on the Archaeology programme at OUDCE and is Course Director of the Diploma in British Archaeology and Advanced Diploma in British Archaeology, as well as Director of Undergraduate Studies for OUDCE. She is the academic lead responsible for the oversight of undergraduate studies at the Department, and is able to provide guidance and support to students, as well as Course Directors, tutors and other colleagues involved in undergraduate learning and teaching. She has overall responsibility for identifying and sharing good practice, and ensuring that the Department complies with University policies.
