Diane Setterfield is a novelist with a world-wide readership. She is the author of The Thirteenth Tale, Bellman & Black and Once Upon a River. Her work has a wide reach, being translated into 38 languages and appealing to both literary and commercial audiences. Literary prizes awarded to her work include the Historical Writers’ Association Gold Crown in 2019. Her debut novel was adapted by Christopher Hampton for Heyday Productions and the BBC. She was formerly an academic in French literature.
