Nicola is a Chartered Psychologist with a PhD in behavioural medicine (awarded by the University of Birmingham). Her main research interests lie within the topic of nicotine addiction, smoking cessation and vaping and she is experienced in evidence synthesis, randomised controlled trials and service evaluation. Nicola’s research has been internationally recognised and has influenced health policy and practice. She leads the Oxford Tobacco Addiction Group (OxTAG) based within the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences.
