Dr Rachel Conroy

Dr Rachel Conroy joined the National Trust in 2019 and loves telling stories through objects. She has worked as a curator for 20 years, specializing in British ceramics, decorative art and contemporary craft. She has published widely and is joint author of Welsh Pottery and Porcelain 1764-1922 (Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, 2022) and lead author of Women Artists and Designers at the National Trust (forthcoming 2025). Recent projects include The Botanical World of Mary Delany, a British Museum international touring exhibition at Beningbrough (2024), the V&A/NT exhibition partnership, Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature (2022) and Everywhere and Nowhere, a research partnership with the University of Leicester looking at histories of disability at the NT (2023). She is currently developing research on the NT’s remarkable collections of amateur creativity.
