She completed her undergraduate studies at the Department of Sociology, Korea University in 2006, and her Master’s in Sociology at the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2017. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Political Science, Seoul National University. She has been a journalist for 17 years, working in various departments including the Political Affairs, Economics, and International departments. She worked as a journalist in Seoul before taking a year off in 2006 to complete her MA at Cambridge University. She returned to Korea to work as a journalist, and returning to UK-Oxford in August this year as a journalism fellow at the LG Sangnam Press Foundation. Her current PhD research topic is looking at how the UK’s far-right parties have influenced the ruling coalition’s immigration policy. She wants to find out how identity politics works in the real world and how it is reported in the media. She is currently working on this topic as a visiting researcher at the COMPAS Centre. She is very interested in British society and European society, and when she returns to Korea, she hopes to play a role in helping to promote Britain in Korea.
