Gregory Hadley is a Professor of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies in the Department of Humanities at Niigata University, Japan. His current book, “Grounded Theory for Applied Linguists: A Practical Guide” was published in paperback by Routledge in 2019. Other books that he has written included “English for Academic Purposes in Neoliberal Universities: A Critical Grounded Theory” (2015, Springer) and “Field of Spears: The Last Mission of the Jordan Crew” (2007, Paulownia Press), a critically-acclaimed study of an American B-29 Bomber Crew that was shot down over Japan and captured during the final days of the Second World War. His current project is a nationally-funded Japanese grant for developing a grounded theory on the social processes related to Extensive Reading in Second Language Classrooms.
