Dr Hilary Wynne

Faculty of Linguistics

Hilary is a Postdoctoral Researcher currently working on an ERC Advanced Grant at the Language and Brain Laboratory (Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics). Her research areas include experimental psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, historical linguistics, phonology and bilingualism. She also teaches the Introductory Phonology module for the MSt and MPhil in General Linguistics and Philology.

She holds a BA in English Literature from Wheaton College (Massachusetts), an MA in English and American Studies from the University of Manchester, an MA in Medieval Studies from the University of Toronto, and an MPhil and DPhil in Linguistics from the University of Oxford. Her previous research focused on non-native speech production in native Bengali speakers, and she did the bulk of her fieldwork in Kolkata, India.
