Javier Lezaun is Fellow of Kellogg College and James Martin Lecturer in Science and Technology Governance and Deputy Director at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society in the School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography.
Javier’s research focuses on the politics of scientific research and its governance. He directs the research programme BioProperty, funded by the European Research Council, which investigates the role of property rights and new forms of ownership in biomedical research. Javier is also currently participating in research projects on the governance of climate geoengineering, and new forms of consumer mobilization in food markets.
Javier joined Kellogg College in 2008 after teaching and research stints at the London School of Economics and Amherst College. He holds a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from Cornell University.
