Jiri’s research focuses on empirical and theoretical asset pricing. His work is centred on the role of technological changes and innovation for asset prices. He is interested in how technology interacts with capital and different types of labour, how these interactions affect firms’ riskiness and are reflected on financial markets. His recent work examines how technological innovations that allow displacement of labour by capital affect stock prices.

Jiri has completed his PhD in Finance at the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business, in Canada. Prior to this, he obtained an MSc in Quantitative Finance and MSc in Finance and Accounting at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
