Joanne Elvins was elected to a fellowship on 18 February 2004. She came to the College in December 1994 as College Secretary and retired at the end of September 2009 as Academic Registrar, with the duties of Tutor for Admissions. Her academic background includes study and research in British History and the History of Art (18th century watercolours), and a secondary level teacher qualification in history and English. While in post at Kellogg she saw the College grow from a student body of 25 to over 400, and a fellowship of 40 to 100. The College’s acquisition of the Norham Manor site and its move there was for her a dream come true. She was thrilled to be able to help establish the College in its new home. In retirement she is devoting her time again to the History of Art and to travelling.
