Prof Kasper Rasmussen

Kasper Rasmussen is Professor of Information Security in the Department of Computer Science, at Oxford University. He joined the University in 2013 and in 2015 was awarded a University Research Fellowship from the Royal Society in London. Kasper did his Ph.D. at ETH Zurich where he worked mainly on security protocols relating to secure time synchronization and secure localization with a particular focus on distance bounding. After completing his Ph.D., Kasper did a post-doc at the University of California, Irvine, before moving to Oxford.

Kasper’s current research is focused around analysis and design of security protocols, often (but not necessarily) in the domain of embedded systems. This includes applied work on existing systems such as Bitcoin, Google’s Nearby Connections and Bluetooth, as well as new proposals in the area of remote atterstation and P2P.
