Dr Shinichi Sunami works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Physics with Prof Christopher Foot. His research focuses on quantum many-body dynamics and entanglement-enhanced sensing.

Shinichi completed his DPhil at University of Oxford, Department of Physics (St Hilda’s college). During his DPhil, he investigated the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) phase transition in two-dimensional quantum gases.

He enjoys being involved in departmental outreach activities, where he presents a virtual-reality game that intuitively introduces quantum physics experiments. Outside the lab, he likes mountaineering and the game of mahjong.
