Kafka Writing Competition Final

As part of the OxfordKafka24 campaign to celebrate the life and work of Franz Kafka, Kellogg College invites you to the Kafka writing competition final where shortlisted participants of the Kafka writing competition read out their entries. During the event the winner and runner-up will be announced.

The panel:

Prof Sandie Byrne – Professor of English, University of Oxford, and Fellow of Kellogg College.

Dr Edward Clarke – Poet, art historian, tutor in English Literature, University of Oxford, and Ordinary Fellow of Kellogg College.

Free and open to all, this event will be taking place both in person and online.

About the Kafka writing competition:

All students and alumni of Kellogg College are invited to submit a piece of writing on the subject of Kafka’s novel The Metamorphosis.

Write a short piece (1000 words or fewer) inspired by The Metamorphosis. This can be fiction, prose non-fiction, drama, or poetry.

Email your entry to sandie.byrne@kellogg.ox.ac.uk by 5pm Friday 24 May 2024.

You will get the opportunity to read your entry aloud at the competition final event.
